About the Cigar Broker

Hi and thanks for visiting my website. I hope you find it informative and of use to your pursuit of all things cigar, the mysterious world of cigars will be unravelled based on my experiences all over the globe during my travels.
The site is interactive so please contribute and give me any warranted feedback.

My love affair with Cigars started many years ago in England as a boy growing up in the rural county of Wiltshire. My father Patrick had cigars in his study and many other curious items in cigar boxes that drew me into this fascinating world. There were boxes with Henri Winterman, King Edwards and pipes of all shapes and sizes. Christmas time saw the cigars coming out with my uncles, aunties and gifts to the bank manager in the days when you could still have a relationship with your local manager. My Auntie Deb used to have a cigar at Christmas and to this day there is nothing sexier than a woman smoking a cigar, please no Monica Lewinsky jokes! Although Bill and Monica did the cigar industry a great service.

I spent many years in the Royal Navy before settling in Perth in Western Australia and that is where the next chapter of my cigar affair continues.

I went along to a cigar tasting at Churchill's in the West Australian Club in Perth , it was a newly opened cigar bar with keeps, a bar and I was hooked by the allure of cigars. This cigar bar is now closed, but our host Simon Devlin has since opened Devlins in Perth City as well as his cigar lounge in Subiaco, which is fantastic and very unique to Perth. It's well worth a visit if your in Perth as it has an extensive range of cigars for the novice and discerning cigar buyers.

Many years earlier I had been at Guantanamo Bay Naval base as a nineteen year old sailor way before it became infamous, and had always wondered what Cuba was like across the razor wire, telling myself that I would go back one day. I got that opportunity in 2013 and joined a Gap Adventure cycle tour and had an amazing time, I know what you;re thinking cigars and cycling!

I have dedicated a section to Cuba as the spiritual home of cigars and have done my best to share my experiences, photos and videos.

I also visited lounges in London, New York and Dubai,Cuba and Australia. There is a section on cigar lounges of the world but would great if you could share your experiences with us.

I hope you enjoy my site and I look forward to your contribution to our enjoyment of fine cigars the world over.

In the great words of Winston Churchill.

"Smoking cigars is like falling in love. First, you are attracted by its shape; you stay for its flavour, and you must always remember never, never to let the flame go out!"
~Winston Churchill

I first visited Cuba in 1985 as a young British sailor , we made an unscheduled stop at Guantanamo Bay before it became so infamous in today's world.
